Day 1 :
Arrival in Axum
Your adventure begins in Addis Ababa where you'll catch a connecting flight to Shire Airport in Tigray. Upon arrival, a friendly representative will greet you and whisk you away to the historic city of Axum. After settling into your comfortable room at the Yared Zema Hotel, you'll embark on a city tour, exploring the fascinating archaeological treasures of Axum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 2 :
Axum to Hawzen via Adwa and Yeha
Following a delicious breakfast, you'll set off on a scenic drive towards Hawzen. Along the way, you'll make a captivating stop at the Adwa Mountains, a site steeped in Ethiopian history. You'll also have the opportunity to delve into the past at the ancient Temple of Yeha, providing a glimpse into the pre-Axumite kingdom. Day 3 :
Exploring the Gheralta Churches

Farewell to Tigray
On your final day, you'll head south of Hawzen to discover the Wukro Cluster, a collection of ancient and splendid churches. Here, you'll get to witness the architectural artistry of Abune Abraham, Abraha we Atsibeha, and Wukro Cherkos churches. Bidding farewell to Tigray, you'll continue your journey to Mekele and transfer to Alula Aba Nega Airport for your departing flight back to Addis Ababa.
