Itinerary
Day 1 :
Addis – Bale Mountains Park
Fly to Bale Goba and be welcomed by your guide and begin your journey to Dinsho, which is where the headquarters of the Bale Mountains National Park is located. Here we will organize the trekking for the next day.
Overnight in Dinsho.
Day 2 :
Bale Mountain Trekking
Starting from Dinsho, trek to Adelay via the Geysay Valley and the Web River, viewing the Web waterfall along the way. During the hike, there will be wonderful chances to see the Mountain Nyala, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Bohor Reedbuck, and possibly Colobus Monkeys. Trekking will take 4 – 5 hours. overnight Camping.
Day 3 :
Trekking Bale Mountains National Park
Trek to Wasama through a beautiful landscape with stunning views. Pass through Mararo Valley where the Lammergeyer and Verreaux Eagles keep nests. There will also be a chance to see the Ethiopian Wolf and other species of birds. Around 7 – 8 hours of trekking.
Day 4 :
Trekking Bale Mountains National Park
Start the day by hiking up Mt. Wasama (4200m) and then continue down into the Worgona Valley. Falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian Wolf will be visible. End the day at Lake Gebre Guracha, meaning “black lake” in the Oromo language. Trekking will take 7-8 hours.
Day 5 :
Short Trekking to Sanetti Plateau
Today you will explore the Sanetti Plateau, a great place to see the endemic Ethiopian wolf. You will also visit the Crane Lakes. A final ascent will be made to the top of Tullu Dimtu, second highest point in the country, offering spectacular views of the surrounding areas. In the afternoon, you will be met by your vehicle and taken to Goba overnight.
Day 6 :
Discover Sof Omar Cave
Early in the morning, depart from Goba to the Sof Omar caves. The most famous spot of the caves is the Chamber of Columns, with limestone pillars up to 20m high. From the entrance, you will follow a trail through several other chambers; Web River, which snakes through the cave seven times. The birdlife in the area is very abundant. Afterward, continue to Dinsho or Dodola overnight.
Day 7 :
Fly back to Addis and Departure
Fly back to Addis and do some shopping and evening enjoy dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the
Country’s many ethnic groups. Transfer to the airport for late night departure.
